Hape Toys

Hape Toys began in 1986 as "Hape Kindergarten Supply." Its founder, Peter Handstein, earned "a unique understanding of the power of play" from his job as a salesman for an educational toy company for kindergartens. He was so inspired he created the company with sister Sabine and friend Renate Gies. The next year, he relocated to Ningbo, China and learned about sustainable and efficient practices for the company.
