Purchased for near-4 year old who loves hard working machines. The numerous moving parts enable child to interact with toy in several ways, leading to a great running dialogue with the machines at times. Toy has been integrated with other toys like big blocks for imaginary work surfaces and smaller blocks for the font loader bucket to transport. I advise this toy to be given only to kids old enough to respect the possible breakage that could result from misuse, e.g. dropping, smashing, etc.

We purchased this toy for my 2 1/2 year old for his reward for potty training. He LOVES IT. It was more lightweight than I was expecting, but has been stronger than I thought it would be once I saw how light it was. It has been a great value for our money and I look forward to many years of play with his backhoe.
