Review:
My three year old loves little things (eg. Playmobil), so I thought she might like the Calico Critters, and this was a relatively affordable starter set. I purchased them along with a set of the Baby Kittens. She has enjoyed them, although some of the pieces are quite tiny and a little difficult for her 3 yr old fingers to handle, even though she has pretty good dexterity. But that's ok -- she will grow into them. I like the child-appropriateness of the Critter themes too -- animal families, modest but cute clothing (I guess animals don't actually need to be modest, but I'm thinking of some of the dolls marketed to even little girls these days). A good alternative to Polly-Pockets and that sort of thing, and a toy that I think they can grow with.
