My 3.5 year old received this car two years ago. Even at 18 months of age, she was able to operate it (though not well, but well enough). It only recently began to experiencing problems with the steering. However, keep in mind this was after TWO solids years of toddler abuse! And she played with it fairly frequently. Wonderful toy for a little girl or boy.
