My 7-year old daughter fancies herself as a true artist. I purchased this kit for her when she was 5. She absolutely loved it. She spent hours and hours drawing pictures. Because of her age, she was spent less time on the text of the book. Therefore, if you want to make full use of this kit, you should probably purchase it for a child 7 or older.
