My son has not stopped playing with this since it arrived at our house. He hasn't actually figured out that sand should go through it, but the wheels and turning motion alone enthrall him, and it's easily portable. One warning though, it's the first toy that he's ever gotten his hand stuck in, by trying to stick his finger up through the bottom of the funnel. Easily remedied, but something to be aware of.
