I bought the Skwish for a friend's baby shower--I liked the sounds of the balls clinking as they moved and the fact that the toy is squishable, not rigid. I also appreciated that it came in an unpainted version--no potential for chipping or wearing off. It seems like a durable toy that can serve a dual purpose as a teething object. The 10 month old at the shower gave the Skwish an impressive test drive despite being in the middle of his normal nap time. :)

My daughter played with her Skwish as soon as she could hold it (1-2 months old). She was fascinated by the bright colors. When her motions were still involuntary, she would shake the Skwish and make it rattle, which she liked. The Skwish is great for building dexterity, too. It has rubberized bands connecting the wooden balls, so it can be squished and twisted in lots of different directions. The fact that it isn't rigid is very appealing to little ones - they can easily manipulate it. I even found myself mindlessly playing with it while on the phone.

This toy ranks at the top of my list as a baby toy. We've first given it as a baby present to friends of ours, who raved about it: it would keep their daughter occupied for an hour when she was about 6 months old! Since then, we've often given it as baby presents and it always turned out a great success. Obviously we then had to get one for our own daughter and it's her fav toy. Bottom line: you can't go wrong with this!
