This is a must have for everyone with a baby. I give it as a gift to everyone who doesn't already have one. It was my kids favorite toy from the moment they could grasp. I thought it looked like a dog toy at first but babies love it. And I never have to worry about the baby with it because it's completely safe. It travels from crib, around the house, and wherever we go.

Since my 5 month old puts everything in his mouth, I want to make sure that all of his toys are safe. I'm constantly surprised at how many toys are not BPA and phthalate-free. This is a great safe toy that he loves to chew on. It's still a little too big. Though he can hold the neck and the legs okay, if they were smaller, he'd have a better grip. The head and feet are too big to fit in his mouth, so he ends up trying to chew on it for a while but then loses interest because most of the part don't fit in his mouth yet. Only the mouth and the ears are small enough, but they are difficult to maneuver because he can barely hold on to the thick neck.

I heard a lot of good about Sophie the Giraffe but had been skeptical of the price tag. I can now honestly say that it is worth every cent! Our daughter started teething at 3 months and many teething toys seemed too big. Sophie is great because she can chew on ears, legs, face, etc. And there are plenty of pieces for her to hold onto also.

This toy is so simple and yet so appealing to little ones. My daughter loved Sophie best between 3 and 12 months (when she was cutting a lot of teeth fast). She chewed endlessly on Sophie's legs. My 4 year old son also loved Sophie. He liked the feel and smell, I think. Both of my kids say that the giraffe is their favorite animal, and I'm sure this is from playing with Sophie. My daughter is now 18 months old. Sophie still comes out of the toy box occasionally but now it's mostly to go in her make-believe zoo.

I got my 1 year old Sophie the Giraffe when she was teething at 6 months old. I had seen and heard that Sophie was an awesome teething and soothing toy and in our experience it was true. My daughter is now 1 and still uses and plays with Sophie. I would suggest trying this for any teething child. I love that it is safe and natural since my daughter is putting this toy in her mouth. The cost may seem a little high but it is worth every penny. I would suggest getting a leash or something to keep Sophie from getting lost or dropped on the ground when out. Not a toy you want to lose.

We bought Sophie the Giraffe for my daughter when she was around six months old because she ignored normal teethers and I had heard good things about this one. I love the design! It is a nice, natural rubber that just needs a good wipe for cleaning. There are no parts to worry about coming off, and there are plenty of places that are easy for a baby to chew. It also makes a squeaky noise (the squeaker is built in to the rubber rather than an extra piece) that my daughter loves. Word of warning, though--if you have a dog, don't let her around this toy. The squeaker makes dogs want to play. :) My daughter is eight months old now and still loves her Sophie the Giraffe. I highly recommend this toy.

My friend's baby has this teething toy and I had to examine it closely to see for myself what the fuss was all about. It's very soft and bendable and extremely chewy. Also, the wet rubber against little gums makes a lovely squeaky noise. In addition, the pliability of the giraffe makes it very easy for babies with no fine motors skills (yet) to grasp it. My one complaint is that it is ridiculously expensive. I can't imagine why such a small toy would cost so much. Is it the hype perhaps? If it weren't so expensive, I'd recommend it to anyone, but since it is, I suggest they look elsewhere--especially if they're on a budget.

The instant I bought Sophie and handed her over to my daughter, she was a HUGE hit! Sophie is great for teething little ones, and also great for play. She squeaks easily, and it is easy for little hands to make the noise on their own. The delighted my daughter and caused lots of giggles! Every parent should treat their baby to Sophie!

This was such a hit for my son when he was tiny. The legs are the perfect size for small mouths to chew. Also they can't hurt themselves if they swing it around excitedly and hit themselves in the face. :)
