In the Truth Be Told Game, you pretend to be your friends, and see how well you know them too! In each round of the Truth Be Told Game from Buffalo Games, there is a new host who writes a truthful answer to a question like, “Truth Be Told, I love to wear _________.” All the other players write fake answers that sound like what the host might say, passing them to the host to read outloud. Then, players of the Truth Be Told Game vote on which answer they think the host wrote - it may sound easy, but that depends on how well you know the host! Players earn points by voting for the host's answer and/or their bluff answer was selected by others. I actually purchased this game for a 10 year old girl who loves games. She opened it right away and we played with another adult and two children ages 8 and 6. While the younger ones didn't totally grasp the concept, their answers were hilarious. (The 10 year old did great.) I would just have them whisper there answer to me and write it for them. An example of what they gave for an answer: Truth be Told, the first thing (the host) thinks about when they get up in the morning is _________. My six year old's response was "getting some candy." Then when it was time to vote, they just told me which answer they thought was right and I voted accordingly. I love how simple it is, an easy light party or even family game where not a lot of intense thinking and pondering is involved.
