This bead table doesn't take up much space but it has a number of bead paths that are engaging. If the wires are looked at at the right angle it appears as if you are looking at a face (eyes, ears nose mouth) The table is quality and heavy, made in Canada (at least mine was). This toy could whether many children, and be handed down through the generations. My only concern with it is the weight, especially with small children, in case it toppled. The table does have an area where it can be bolted to the floor but it doesn't seem practical to bolt it in a residence, If it were purchased for a business I would bolt it down. It is not to heavy for an adult to move from room to room.
Everyone enjoys Magformers, they are hard to put down and I find myself fiddling with them while on the phone or anytime they are nearby and my hands are empty. My son and I have made houses with pools and sunrooms, barns and silos, car showrooms and mechanic bays...really there is no limit to what your imagination can build. We started with this set which is very colorful and are building ( you really can't buy just one set, they are very addictive) We have 80 pieces and counting. They are very sturdy and will last (I think) forever. When the magnets are stacked a magnetic field can be created that repels an additional magnet that is not oriented properly, but we are using that as a teaching point on magnets and polarization.
Highly recommend, a favorite at play dates.
This toy is very well made and an excellent concept. We only have one car at present so we haven't been able to interchange the parts to make different designs. But the Automoblox rides well and the grooves on the tires even make a sound like a quiet engine. It rolls across the floor lickety split and extra fun for a boy - if it strikes an object the car flies apart ;) Easily put back together :)
There are tons of different things to do with this set. So far my son and I have used them as mini puzzles, as stand alone figure toys (like the bear) and as blocks. I think they will be an excellent educational resource. I am looking forward to using them as a feel and find game and a memory game, reinforcing shapes and colors. I think it will be a fun game for play dates as well. Well worth the money.
Ahh! The fox, what fun we have had with this wily creature. He has triggered many a youtube viewing of foxes in their natural habitat. I love that these toys are encouraging a love of nature and animals in my son. The fox has been beautifully captured in exquisite detail. My son carries him everywhere, often to bed at night and the fox is a frequent traveler both in the car and on many a plane trip. He's an easy companion and can be put in a pocket or purse when he needs a rest
This was my son's first Schleich figurine and is still one of his favorites. It is beautifully detailed, not just in form but also in coloration. If you flip the bear over and look at her paws they too have been colored and have a subtle graying around the pads. This bear has been everywhere, we brought some snow in the house this past winter and the Schleich animals happily tromped through that too. I don't think you can go wrong with any Schleich but the polar bear is truly beautiful, has a substantial weight and I am sure can be passed down through the generations.
My son loves Schleich and the wolf is a fantastic addition to our growing collection. It is beautifully rendered and has provided hours of entertainment. We love to take our Schleich toys walking through play dough and examine the different types of tracks animals leave. The wolf seems to be a constant companion at the table and is often 'fed' by my son. My one wish: there were other wolf figures in other positions so we could have a wolf pack.
I purchased this for my son when he was one, he had already been walking for a little over a month and I thought this would entrance and encourage him. He has shown variable interest in it, but my friend's son LOVES it and plays with it at every play date. It is colorful and fun and can continue to crawl if flipped over, generally will flip back up if it has tumbled on its side. We've had it about a year and it still looks brand new.
I purchased the large wheely bug for my 18 month old son, despite manufacturer recommendations (the small is recommended for this age group). My son is in the 70th% for height and he did not quite fit the bug when it came, but ~ 3 weeks later it was perfect. If you have a taller child you may want to purchase the larger toy, and you most certainly will WANT to purchase this toy! The wheely bug is wonderful, it is small enough that you can take it with you (Grandparents, friends, hotels...) yet it is loads of fun. The wheels swivel 360 degrees so no more being trapped in a corner with ill turning wheels. It is adorable and well made. My son often insists that I ride the bug and it is no worse for wear (manufacturer recommends only 50#). This toy resides in the living room and is used daily. Heartily recommend! My only complaint is there isn't as much cushion as I would wish, but it really isn't intended for an adult's weight ;)
