We got this for our 5 YO daughter for Christmas, it was billed as a good beginner's instrument. My husband plays guitar, so we were looking for something her size that he could teach her a little bit. On Christmas Eve, after the kiddos were in bed, he tried to tune it. It had an awful sound. He struggled with it for almost two hours and could not get it anywhere close to tuned. We were in a bind, we gave it to her anyway. It came with nylon strings, we are thinking of trying steel strings instead. That may do the trick. It is attractive and seems to be we constructed. If we can get it tuned, or nearly tuned, it would be worth it's price.
